Job Responsibilities
- To assist in shift operation of the power plant and take shift responsibility in the event of absence of Shift Engineer.
- Accountable to the concern Shift Engineer for proper discharge of the assigned duties, smooth starting, stopping & operations of engine & other auxiliary equipment.
- Keep informing the Control Room Shift Engineer for any abnormality and corrective measures taken by yourself or whether to be done by the Shift Engineer or whether Maintenance Engineer's presence is required to attend the problem.
- Take rounds in the Substations, Fuel Tank Yard, Fuel Treatment Plant, WTP, Boilers, Lube Oil purifiers etc. where ever is the place of duty for visual inspection and recording of necessary parameters.
- To keep sharp watch on the levels of all the LT & HT water Tanks, HFO & LFO Tanks, and report to the Control Room of the levels. You should also be fully conversant of all the valves piping systems of the Sludge tank and Oily Water Tank, fuel oil, lube oil, starting and control air, steam & water system.
- To write all the relevant events of the shift in the Shift Log Book including any pending actions to be taken in the next shift.
- Ensure proper Handing/Taking over of the duties among the senior operators of the relieving and the next shift.
- Monitor all the equipment's parameters & report it any abnormality.
- Ensure personal and equipment safety & environment management system.

- Diploma in Engineering (Electrical/ Mechanical/ Power/ Marine) from reputed Institute.
Experience Requirements
- 2 to 4 year(s)
- The applicants should have experience in the following area(s):
Installation/ Erection, Operation & Maintenance - The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s):

Additional Requirements
- Age at most 30 years
- Must have experience of operation in HFO Engine.
- Must have working knowledge about all the operating system and controls (electrical, mechanical & electro-mechanical), Electrical Distribution System, supervision of the running machinery (main & auxiliary).
- Must be fully conversant with the Single Line Diagram of the Plant's Power Generation & Evacuation System.
- Must be fully conversant with the P&ID of the following system relating to the Simple Cycle Operation:
- Must be fully conversant with all the system valves, switches, emergency stops etc. of the main and auxiliary machinery, Boilers, Breakers etc. and to deal with the emergency situation of the running machinery.
- Should be fully conversant with the systems and the sequence of operations of Fuel Transfer Pumps, HFO Separators, Lube Oil Separators, and Oily Water Treatment Plant.
- To be able to contact with the NLDC Authority (land and Mobile Phone numbers) at time of any need.
- Should be fully conversant with personal safety & safe working practice.
